Grant Park is one of Atlanta’s oldest neighborhoods and a highly coveted destination for city dwellers. Named after the park it surrounds, Grant Park is home to a number of Victorian homes, retail destinations, and local eateries. The neighborhood is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and both the Grant Park Neighborhood Association and the Grant Park Conservancy work to preserve the historical integrity of both the park itself, as well as the residential area.
Within the park, visitors can explore some of Atlanta’s best known attractions, including Zoo Atlanta. Zoo Atlanta opened in 1889, and currently houses more than 1,500 different species of animals. The zoo is also home to the nation’s largest gorilla and orangutan habitat. The Atlanta Cyclorama and Civil War Museum also sits in Grant Park, where visitors can discover one of the world’s largest oil paintings. This painting depicts the Battle of Atlanta, a prominent battle that had an immense impact on the outcome of the Civil War.
Large Victorian mansions sit alongside the edges of the park, and a number of older properties are scattered throughout the neighborhood. These include small cottages, bungalows, and Queen Anne single-family homes. The historic charm of Grant Park is one of the area’s biggest draws, but Grant Park is also home to a strong school system that includes two highly-ranked charter schools. With the abundance of natural space, educational opportunities, and assortment of retailers in the area, it comes as little surprise that Grant Park remains such a popular neighborhood.

I’ve owned many properties and it’s always difficult handling the maintenance, and I don’t like having to collect rent. I’ve been totally uninvolved with Andy handling it. Andy is the man.
